Most concert shirts were sold at the gate. The best ones in Collection 478 never were. They come from the family of a Foghat road crew member who worked for Jim Koplik and Shelly Finkel, the Connecticut promoters behind Summer Jam at Watkins Glen in 1973, where about 600,000 people outdrew Woodstock. The yellow Watkins Glen security shirt was staff issue. The chambray button ups carry Koplik and Finkel and Foghat embroidery. The white Allman Brothers jersey is from the November 1975 Providence Civic Center benefit that funded Jimmy Carter's long shot run for president. Deeper in: the Grateful Dead at Dillon Stadium in 1972 and again in 1974, Cheech and Chong, Yes, the Eagles, T. Rex, Humble Pie, J. Geils, a run of Foghat, a Bill Graham Greek Theatre staff shirt, and a second rack of 80s and 90s band shirts led by the Dinosaur Jr cow and Deftones. 91 pieces. Verified and authenticated one of one originals. When it's gone, it's gone!
